Late Surprise In Monaco
Hello F1 fans! What a race it was in the streets of Monaco. Lewis hamilton was set to win the race. He was setting fastest laps and had a 7 second lead over Nico Rosberg and Sebastian Vettel in second and third. But then on lap 64 there was an accident when Max vestappen crashed into the back of Lotus driver Roman Grosjean. From my point of view I thought it was Grosjean’s fault because he broke so early. This caused the virtual safety car to be deployed. The virtual safety car has the same propose a the real safety car but it works very differently. Shortly after Hamilton reacted and made a pitstop. When he did this it switched to regular safety to be deployed. So when Hamilton went out of the pits he found himself third place behind Vettel and Rosberg. At the end of the race Hamilton was extremely disappointed with his third place finish. The team says it was because there was a miscalculation and there was no G.P.S in Monaco so that made it harder. He was so angry he said he couldn’t express his emotions and won’t try to. As I end the post I just want to say: “Monaco, full of surprises.” I hope you enjoyed my post and I will see you next week. If you can watch the video and leave a comment and tell me what you thought about it. Fact of the day: Rosberg has became one of very few drivers to win the Monaco Grand Prix 3 times in a row.
Titanium Skid Plates
Welcome back F1 fans! Today’s post will be about something called Titanium Skid Plates. Before we get to that I just want to say that 21 years ago Ayrton Senna, one of the greatest F1 drivers in the world crashed in a F1 race and died. If you want to learn more about him go to one of my other posts called One of The Greatest F1 Drivers.
Titanium Skid Plates are something under the car that produces sparks. They look even cooler when it is a night race. The reason why they added them was just to make the cars cooler and add to the show. Then, more people would start watching F1. So the next time you see sparks coming out of an F1 car there is no a problem. Bye!
Rosberg Showing his passing skills in Bahrain
Welcome back F1 fans! Today was the Bahrain Grand Prix. It was a night race. The special thing about these races is the cars have sparks coming out of them. This is caused by titanium skid plates. I will tell you more about them in my next post. At the start of the race, Hamilton made a great start quickly opening up a small lead to Sebastian Vettel in second place.
As the race progressed, there were some amazing passes. Especially from Nico Rosberg. I think he learned some moves from last years race in Bahrain with Hamilton 12 months ago. Weirdly, the Medium Tyre seemed to be faster than the Softer Tyre which is supposed to be faster.
Late in the Race, a mistake from Vettel damaged his front wing causing him to go to the pits and replace it. This dropped him to fifth behind the Williams of Valtari Bottas. On the last lap of the race Kimi Raikkonen was literally under the gearbox of Nico Rosberg. (That is an expression for very close behind.) When Rosberg made a mistake letting Raikkonen pass him.
In the end of the race the top three were Hamilton, Rosberg and then Raikkonen. Another Mercedes 1 and 2! Now they win so much I am only interested on who finishes third. 1 and 2 or not I hope you enjoyed my post and I will see you next week! ( now my non race posts are on Saturday!)
Fact of the day: 7 women actually raced in F1!
Close Qualifying in Bahrain
Welcome back F1 fans! Today was qualifying in Bahrain. It is one of my favorite circuits because it is because it is at night and all the cars look nice and shiny. The actual track is good too. One of the big surprises was in qualifying 1 was when Daniil Kvyat was out. I fount that surprising considering he is in a Red Bull and how much sucsess they had in 2013.
Also Jenson Button has been having a miserable weekend so far failing to finish any of the three practice sessions. Meanwhile, his teammate Fernando Alonso made it to the second round of qualifying for the first time of the season.
Late in the third and final qualifying, Sebastian Vettel posted a quick time of 1:32.982. Then Kimi Raikkonen had a slightly slower time that was beatan by Rosberg. Last but not least Lewis Hamilton crossed the line with a staggering time of 1:32.571 to claim pole position.
I hope you enjoyed my post and will enjoy tomorrows race. Until then I will see you all later. Bye!
Nerve-racking race in extreme heat of Malaysia
Yesterday’s race will probably be one of the best races this season. At the start of the race Lewis Hamilton was on Pole position. Pole position is when you get the first spot on the grid, which gives you a higher chance of winning. You can earn it by having the fastest time in Qualifying. Next to Hamilton was Sebastian Vettel, his teammate Kimi Raikkonen qualified 11th. On the third spot was Nico Rosberg Followed by Daniel Riccardo.
At the start of the race, Nico Rosberg made a better start than Vettel, so Vettel squeezed him to the side of the road to pass him. Then on lap 4, the safety car came out after debris being on the track. The next major event was when on lap 17 when Marcus Erricson spun and ended up in the gravel trap. The gravel trap is a surface that is designed to stop the cars from high speeds. But that also means the end of their race.
Meanwhile most of the cars wen’t into the pits. But not Vettel. I really wanted him to win this race. So I was shouting ” Vettel why aren’t you going into the pits!” But that was probably the strategy that won him the race. He took very good care of the tires and could stay ahead of the two rival Mercedes. Vettel was the first to cross the checkered flag! I am hoping to see a great race in China and hopefully it will be close. Bye!
What did you think about the race? Please write some comments too!
Exciting Race in Australia
Welcome back F1 fans! Today was the first race of the 2015 Formula One Season. Coming into the race, Lewis Hamilton was the favorite to win. He started on pole followed by his teammate Nico Rosberg. On the second row was Felipe Massa. Next to him was his big rival Sebastian Vettel. There were 3 drivers making their formula one debut. First it was Max Vesstappen, Felipe Nasar and Carlos Sainz jr. 2 of them impressively finished in the points.
You get points when you finish tenth or better. To win the championship, you need to get the most amount of points. When the race started, we lost the first car of the race at turn 1. Slowly the cars came in for pitstops. Weirdly, most of them were ether slow or had problems. I found that surprising because all the pit crews did so much practice over the winter.
Later in the race, the 2 Mercedes cars pulled away from Vettel and Massa, by the end of the race, they lapped cars up to fifth place! In the end Hamilton was first, Rosberg second and finally making an impressive debut for Ferrari, Sebastian Vettel finished in third. A very low 11 out of 20 cars finished the race. I hope you enjoyed my post, and see you next week!
First Qualifying of Season in Australia
Welcome back F1 fans! Today was the first qualifying of the new season in Australia. Qualifying is when all the cars go around the track as fast as they can to get a better place on the grid. Today we saw 3 new faces of Carlos Saniz jr , Max Vesstappen and Felipe Nasar. For this session it was the 2 Mercedes of Hamilton And Rosberg picking up where they left off from last season being first and second on the grid. Next was the Williams of Felipe Massa followed by the two Ferraris of newly Joined Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen. Hope you enjoyed my post and enjoy tomorrows race! Bye!
2015 Season Set to Start Soon
Hello F1 fans! Im extremely exited for the new formula one season! It starts with the exiting street circuit in Australia and ends with the wide open new track in Abu Dhabi. Right now the teams are doing their preseason testing in Barcelona. So far Lewis Hamilton has been the quickest picking up where he left off from last season. In testing Fernando Alonso, had a very bad crash at 134 Mph. He claimed that he was fine and he could race. What I think is he should not race in Australia. But I still hope that he makes a quick recovery. Bye and se you next week!
